Walking Around Rowsley in Derbyshire

A rainy wet weekend it was in Derbyshire, but our stay at the Peacock Inn in Rowsley, which was established in 1652, was very nice and comfortable.  The Inn has a long history of fly fishing -- there's even a guest book for flyfishers to write in about their day, flies, and conditions -- Mark added his information!  We definitely want to return next year.  These are photos of the Inn's lounge area and entryway:

We took a couple of neighborhood walks around on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning -- here are a few of photos of what we saw:

The last Victorian style mill in the UK -- it was quite a contraption but effective.

You are here!

As opposed to . . . ?

We returned home shortly after this walk, and happily the drive back was less scary -- this time no one honked at Mark . . . . But, you know, I think we'll take the train up next year!
